File Upload Field Addon — Ultra Addons for WPForms #

In this article, we’ll explain how to set up and use the File Upload Field Addon included with the Ultra Addons for WPForms plugin. This addon allows you to easily add modern, drag-and-drop file upload functionality to your WPForms — with file type control, size limits, and multi-file upload support.

What’s Needed #

Before you start, make sure:

  • You have WPForms installed and activated.
  • The Ultra Addons for WPForms plugin is installed and activated.
  • The File Upload Field addon is enabled in your Ultra Addons settings.

What is the File Upload Field Addon? #

The File Upload Field Addon enhances WPForms by allowing users to upload files directly through your forms.
It supports drag-and-drop uploads, multiple files per field, and advanced settings like allowed file types and maximum upload size.

You can use this field for:

  • Job application forms (CV, resume, portfolio)
  • Customer support or feedback forms (attachments, screenshots)
  • Project submissions or document collection

Setting Up the File Upload Field Addon #

Step 1: Activate the Addon #

  1. In your WordPress Dashboard, go to Ultra Addons → Settings.
  2. Enable the File Upload Field toggle.
  3. Click Save Settings to apply changes.

Once activated, you’ll be able to add the File Upload field directly from the WPForms form builder.

Step 2: Add the File Upload Field to Your Form #

  1. Navigate to WPForms → All Forms, and open an existing form or create a new one.
  2. In the Add Fields panel, locate the File Upload Field (from Ultra Addons).
  3. Drag and drop it into your form.
  4. Click on the field to customize its Field Options.

Step 3: Configure Field Options #

Inside the Field Options panel, you can customize several settings:

  • Label: Change the field name shown to users.
  • Description: Add instructions for what kind of files should be uploaded.
  • Allowed File Types: Define which file types users can upload (e.g., jpg, png, pdf, docx).
  • Max File Size: Limit upload size (e.g., 2MB, 5MB, etc.).
  • Multiple Uploads: Allow users to upload more than one file.
  • Required Field: Make file upload mandatory for submission.

Step 4: Save and Embed the Form #

After customizing, click Save.
Embed the form on any page using the WPForms shortcode, block, or widget.

Your visitors can now drag and drop files or browse to upload from their device.

  • I want to enter my key in the settings after activating the Ultra Addons for WPForms Pro plugin. It keeps telling me that I don’t have permission. Even though I’m an administrator? What should I do? Thank you
