How Save and Resume Works #
When a user is filling out a form, they can click Save and Resume Later.
The system will then:
- Save the current form data
- Generate a unique resume link
- Allow the user to return later and finish the form
- Submit the completed form normally
This is especially useful for long forms that take more than a few minutes to complete.

- Go to WPForms → All Forms
- Click Edit on the form you want to update
Step 2: Enable Save and Resume Option #
- In the form builder, go to Settings
- Click Save and Resume
- Toggle Enable Save and Resume to ON
Step 3: Customize Save & Resume Settings #
You can customize how the Save & Resume feature behaves, including:

✅ Save Confirmation Message
Example:
“Your progress has been saved. Use the link below to resume your form anytime.”
✅ Resume Link Delivery Option
Depending on your addon settings, you can allow:

- Resume link sent to email (recommended)
✅ Email Field for Resume Link
You can require users to enter an email address so the resume link can be delivered safely.
User Experience (Frontend) #
When enabled, users will see a Save and Resume Later option on the form.
After saving, they can:
- Copy the resume link and open it later
OR - Receive the link via email (if enabled)
When they return using the link, the form will open with their previous answers already filled in.
Viewing Saved Entries in WPForms #
Saved entries are typically stored as partial entries until the form is completed.
To view them:
- Go to WPForms → Entries
- Select your form
- Look for saved/incomplete entries (if available in your setup)
Once the user finishes and submits, it will appear as a complete entry.
